EYITEE: ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Eyitee is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, dancer, and creative storyteller whose journey into music is a testament to resilience, faith, self-discovery, and the transformative power of artistic expression. Blending the infectious rhythms of Afropop with contemporary pop influences, she is building a distinctive sound and artistic identity that reflect her experiences, imagination, and desire to connect with audiences across the world.

Born and raised in a Christian household, Eyitee grew up as the second of three children in a family of five. She attended Baptist Girls Academy before proceeding to the University of Lagos, where she studied Marine Biology. Although her academic background followed a different path, her creative ambitions would eventually lead her toward a life in music.

Before fully committing to music, Eyitee spent five years working as a contracted writer. Her experience as a writer helped shape her storytelling abilities, lyrical expression, and understanding of human emotions. However, her life took a transformative turn following her experience with bipolar affective illness and what she describes as a spiritual revelation. These experiences became significant turning points in her personal and creative journey, contributing to her decision to pursue music at a later stage in life.

Rather than allowing her circumstances to define her future, Eyitee began exploring music as a means of self-expression and personal transformation. Eventually, she made the courageous decision to step away from her established writing career and dedicate herself to music. For her, this transition represented more than a change of profession; it was the beginning of a new chapter shaped by purpose, creativity, and a deeper understanding of herself.

Musically, Eyitee is drawn to the intersection of Afrobeats, Afropop, and contemporary pop. Her artistic vision centres on developing a sound that is recognisably her own while remaining accessible to diverse audiences. As a singer and songwriter, she explores themes drawn from human relationships, personal experiences, confidence, and the complexities of life. Her approach to music is rooted in storytelling, with a desire to create songs that entertain, provoke thought, and resonate with listeners.

Beyond music, Eyitee is also a dancer and digital content creator. She uses visual storytelling, performance, and short-form content to express her creativity and introduce her music to new audiences. Her multidisciplinary approach allows her to explore different dimensions of entertainment, combining sound, movement, personality, and visual expression into a broader artistic identity.

Her involvement in the music industry extends beyond her work as a recording artist. Eyitee has also ventured into A&R and music scouting, and engaging in artist discovery and outreach. Through these opportunities, she has gained exposure to the business side of music, including artist development, music investment, publishing, and the potential value of music catalogues. She has also explored opportunities within publishing and sync, broadening her understanding of the industry beyond performance and recording.

As an independent artist, Eyitee continues to develop her catalogue, strengthen her digital presence, and explore opportunities for collaboration, live performance, and industry partnerships. Through platforms such as YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram, she shares her creative work and connects with listeners while building a foundation for long-term growth.

Eyitee’s story is one of reinvention: a woman with an academic background in science and years of experience in writing who chose to pursue an entirely different calling. Her journey reflects the belief that creativity can emerge at unexpected moments and that pursuing one’s purpose does not have to follow a conventional timeline.

With ambitions that extend beyond geographical boundaries, Eyitee is working toward establishing herself as an internationally recognised artist whose music, performances, and creative vision connect with people from different backgrounds.

For Eyitee, music is not simply a career; it is an avenue for expression, discovery, and the creation of a legacy that reflects the person she has become and the artist she continues to grow into.
